UPDATE FOR JAN. 9, 2012: I have been really under the weather for several days since the original post and there is still some organizing to be done. I am to finally see a doctor today and hopefully, I will be back on track quickly.

I do want to tell everyone, "Merry Christmas!"

Also, I want to explain that I am taking a hiatus from making anything for my online shops or for sale. I did sell some of my JellyBean Critters at the holiday show at the gallery during the month of December. I do have plans for placing JellyBean Critters back on my Etsy and Artfire shops, as well as a couple of other items soon.

Meanwhile, I will be listing blogs and websites below that I find interesting for all DIYers. This will be ongoing for a few days and then I will add a page with these links and more. Just keeping checking for new additions.

My granddaughter has an Our Generation doll that is obtainable from Target. The articles shown were made (by me) from patterns created by Genniewren ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/Genniewren ). Her patterns also are for 18" dolls such as American Girl, Gotz and Madame Alexander.

Shhhh! These are for my granddaughter's Christmas and she is not to see them before Christmas!

This is Genniewren's latest dress: LUCY dress pattern. Of course, there are variations of this that include a tie sash in the back, a Peter Pan collar and a smocked insert.

Most artisans who sell their items online have stocked their shops, and promoted, promoted, promoted their handmade items. I admire them for it and I heartily support the purchasing of handmade items for Christmas gifts, etc. But this year I am pulling back from the selling aspect. Those who know me a bit are aware that I have had a year of challenges that have directed my focus and energy elsewhere. This Christmas, I need to make items for my family and that comes first with me.

However, I do intend to get back into making things for my online shops after the holiday season, providing that no new challenges prevent me from doing so. I also am contemplating getting back into my artwork, both drawing/painting and digitally. The New Year is a time of redirecting my focus. Oh, and I have new plans for my JellyBean Critters.

I am preparing for my family's Thanksgiving feast. This year, I will start days ahead and prepare what I can ahead in hopes of not being inundated with the cooking on Thanksgiving day. Also, I am cleaning as much as I can and getting out Christmas decorations! Not much in the way of making things for sale, but then, I am not trying to make a living in that manner. My shop at Etsy looks skimpy, but that is because many of my items are at a gallery show featuring holiday items for sale. The Artfire shop has more items listed.

I did not photograph items that I have completed recently. Instead, I headed out early this a.m. when I opened the blinds and became spellbound with the beauty of autumn. This scene is a spot at the river that is very near my home. I love autumn!

Product pics will have to wait until tomorrow as that I drove my Dad out of town to visit a friend of his who is in a physical rehab facility after I took the outdoors photos and dropped soup ingredients into the crock pot. We had a good day!

September 20th UPDATE: Yes, I am slow in getting new photos and listings up. Gotta get it done. I, however, have posted a photo of a fabric wall hanging entitled Whimsy Witch on my Artfire shope: This was made last year and sold before having the chance to be listed. I am offering to make to order, on a limited basis, another for any one who wants one - however, I do not plan to make any past the first week of October.
I have been working on a few pumpkins in between my busy schedule for this week. However, a couple were purchased by someone of my locality and did not stay with me long enough to even be photographed. That is okay as that I have started on a few more. Now, I need to get them finished and listed. I do not intend to make more for sale after this week as that I need to move on to other projects. Aug.25 UPDATE: Preparing for a hurricane just in case Irene gets too close has postponed my plans in completing the pumpkins. I survived Hugo years ago and being prepared was first priority this week.
Sept.. 1 UPDATE: This may be repeating content of previous post(s): I have been inactive for a few weeks due to recovering from major surgery and the responsibility of primary caretaker for my father whom I dearly love. He has a sharp mind, but, several health issues warrants someone to stay with him. I am now working on smocking a top for my 9-year-old to wear with jeans, etc. However, I am also pulling out my already cut-out sections of material for more soft sculpture pumpkins as well as a couple of items, made shortly before my surgery, that have not been photographed and posted. My energy level is improving and I am ready to get back into the swing of creating. Life Has It's Twists & Turns

Being the primary caretaker of my elderly father has not really kept me from being productive as that I love to create things, which is really therapeutic for me. Creating / making helps to calm my nerves and to restore peace within myself. However, "life" has thrown some curve balls at me. First, it was the major surgery performed during the first week of June ( and I am recuperating nicely ). Now, my husband, who is a Vietnam Vet has been diagnosed with a problem that is progressive and will deteriorate his quality of life. I am not being specific about his situation as that we are not ready for such. The point is that I will keep the online shops open and will post new creations as time allows me to make. I am considering an email alert offered by Google to send out for those who are interested in receiving such notices immediately of new items being listed on Etsy and/or Artfire. I will give more details next week ( hopefully ) when I figure out how to utilize the service. Unfortunately, I will not be able to do customized orders as that I do not know from one day to the next as to what challenge each day will bring to me. It Is July!

I am still being slow in getting back into a routine and creating things. But, then, I think that my expectation of doing so after major surgery was a bit ambitious. The main thing is being able to focus properly, which has greatly improved over the past few days. The focusing problem is, I am sure, an after effect of anesthesia. Plus, I am still mending and the energy level is lower than I like. However, I am feeling the positive results of the corrective surgery and am so glad that I can eat what I want. I was not able to do so before the operation and the one thing that I missed the most was a good, fresh salad! Now raw vegetables are my best friends again!

I am still here and plan to still create. Have a great 4th of July weekend, every one!

Monday Musing

Time for me to get to doing something creative! It may be slower than I like to complete something as that I am still recuperating from my surgery. However, there are a couple of items that were completed earlier and they need to be photographed and listed. The smocking pleater was pulled out this past weekend and dusted off. One goal today is to find a book of girls' smocked clothing patterns and start on a summer top or two for my two granddaughters.

Made It Through One More Hurdle!

I embrace each new day! My surgery was performed without problems on Monday, June 6, 2011 ... and I was released yesterday. However, I am still not home as that I am to stay at my son's home for another day in order to heal a bit more before taking the long ride home. I plan to take on things in a reasonable manner, and do as my recovery allows. However, I did manage to make a couple of things before surgery, and they will be listed for sale as soon as I can do so this week. My shops will be placed back into active mode by Monday.

There is one bunny, HOPPIE, in this bunch ... but any of these OOAK kitties will be PURRfect for any Easter basket. These little critters are a result of my love of my two granddaughters and of my cats. I made one after an idea suggested by a friend, and my older granddaughter begged for one. iPod Nano News

I am now in the process of making iPod Nano fabric wristbands after I finally made one for myself. I like it so much that I have decided to create more. iPhone 4 / iPod-Touch cases

My son just purchased an iPhone 4 and requested of me to make a case for it. He chose the Monkey print which I find as "cute."

Anyway, I made this one for sale. It fits the iPhone 4 or an iPod-Touch. The iPod-Touch is about the same in dimensions as the phone, but is thinner. I am working on another case on consignment for an iPod-Touch.

Little Blue Rooster

This was sold and shipped out this week and I honestly did so with some regret as that this particular one is dear to me. I really like the material and this is one project that I enjoy making. However, I have some more material and plan to make a couple more sometime after Christmas ... and I plan to keep one for my kitchen. In fact, I have started using chicken items and motifs in my kitchen during the past year.

I added the ruffled "tail" to this item. The pot holders prior to the making of this one, did not have the ruffle.

Also, when I visit the fabric shop again, I aim to keep an eye out for a pattern that may suit this chicken as well as this print does.

The Smokey Mountains as seen off the Blue Ridge Parkway

I just love this photo that I took as my father, son and I toured the mountains and enjoyed the beautiful autumn leaves at their peak of golds, yellows, oranges and reds. The weather was perfect: comfortable temperatures and clear skies.

Now, it is time for me to get back to my routine.

While we traveled, my son and I talked about our joint project that we are secretly doing, as well as about some new JellyBean Critters that I am creating. The trip was rejuvenating physically and mentally. Check back and see what I am up to.

E.T. Is a Favorite with My Family

I rummaged through my files (sewing cabinet) the other day and found this pattern from which I made this costume for my son when he was in the first grade. It is for sale on my ETSY shop and I hope that someone will use it to give a child joy, or just enjoy it as a collector's item.

The costume is still in my son's possession, and he treasures it. I put a great deal of love into that costume.

I placed all of my pumpkin creations on a table for a "group" photo. I really had fun making these and will be sad whenever one leaves me. The pumpkin place mat is of a set of mine that I made several years back. I use them every autumn from September through end of November. A Hit with My Granddaughter

This pumpkin set was created today and is a hit with my 8-year-old granddaughter! I have created so many pumpkins of different fabrics and accents, and this was not the one that I expected her to gravitate towards. Even my husband was wowed by it.

I hope to have all pumpkins listed by late Friday. I have to take my father to his doctor tomorrow (out of town), and I am taking photos, etc., and this takes time. I have enjoyed creating the pumpkins this time around, and by the first of next week, I am working on another Halloween idea - stay tuned.

I am presently stitching up some soft sculptured pumpkins. Recently, I ran across a great find at a yard sale: a huge stash of fabrics from a quilter of 20 + years. From this stash, and from a selected number of prints purchased by me within the last year, these pumpkins are being created. I do not know why, but the pumpkins are one of my favorite things to make. Keep an eye out for these on my Etsy and Artfire shops next week!

Getting Back on Track & Free Artwork

After a schedule of 6 visits to hospitals and doctors, mainly for my father, within 8 days, I find that I may have time for doing some sewing and creating today. I have a long list of projects to complete and need to get to it. But, I am taking time out to publish this and let all, who are interested, know that I am back on track. The artwork to the left is for your use if you wish to use it... All that I ask is that you give me credit for the artwork as that it is my creation. It is a variation of one released last year (check out Art to Share tab at top of this page). Have fun with it!

Another Item Inspired by Gift for Granddaughter

My eight-year-old granddaughter needed a pencil case to clip into a 3-ring-binder for the start of the school year. Okay, but this item was hard to find, or the ones found, were of poor quality. So, of course, Grandma was asked to make one. Hers was made of a more elementary school themed print.

I liked hers so well that I made another of a bi-wing plane printed cotton fabric that is appropriate for a boy, or an adult. I added outside pockets for easy access to pencils or pens, and a pleated pocket roomy enough to store and access easily, a pencil sharpener, erasers, small sticky notes, etc.

Metal grommets were placed to allow the case to be clipped inside a binder, as seen in the photo here. The zippered pocket allows for storage of many pencils, etc., and/or a small notebook or journal/planner.

Where do you want to be right now? If I had to choose between these two locations, or times of the year, I would probably pick the snow. By the way, that is a shot made last February of my back yard. Wow, have we had hot weather, and the snow looks so inviting!

The heat has taken its toll on much of my garden, but the heat loving tomatoes and bell peppers are doing fine. I hope that my husband can plant some more tomato plants that I managed to get to root from cuttings from the plants that produce beauties like this. To give you an idea of the size of this one, the plate is a salad plate, not a saucer.

I am staying at my father's house keeping him company as well as keeping my eye on him. I will work on jazzing up a wheelchair that we wheel him around him in whenever we leave the house. It could be disastrous for him if he fell, He walks around the house, but carefully. When I finish customizing his wheelchair, I will be back in playing around with my fun projects. I still cannot reveal my latest idea, but I will when the time is right.

Several people have expressed astonishment when I have informed them that the photo, seen here, is a blossom from one of the vegetable plants growing in my garden. It is of an Ichiban eggplant blossom. If one stops and looks at the things around us, pleasure and beauty can be found in what we take for granted.
I do not have much about my creativity to report at the moment. I have one project that will be revealed later on as soon as I can. However, my father is having serious health problems and my attention and time has been focused upon him. That is okay - I treasure every moment that I have with him. As Barbara Bush said, "At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or a parent."

My sister really came up with a nice strawberry cake: two layer sheet cake stuffed with strawberries, covered with topping and decorated to resemble the "stars and stripes"! Not only was it pretty, but was also delicious!

The weather was great - the temperatures were much cooler than we have experienced during the couple of weeks before.

What does one do after eating so much during a cookout on the 4th? Get out and play!

BubbleGum is the second of my JellyBean Critters. This was made for my granddaughter, who like me, loves cats, and her color preference is pink. BubbleGum was made originally as a cat-shaped pillow for her bed.

The name reflects the shade of pink flannel, used for the main body, which reminds me of "bubble gum." My grand loves her "BubbleGum" and often checks, during her visits with me, to see what I have been creating in my sewing studio.

Her experience as a quilter for quite awhile comes across in the item that she made for me. JellyBean Critters Will Be Returning!

I have not posted any of my JellyBean Critters lately. It is due to tending to other matters. However, I plan to take new photos with my new camera and hopefully, obtain better quality shots that I can post. The heat index is predicted to be 112 degrees today. The heat is oppressive. I want to take the pictures in natural light (preferably outdoors) and will have to figure out how to work around the heat - I may use light from the window. Just an update on what I am doing.

New Camera Arrived!

The camera arrived early this a.m. and I have only taken a few shots from the window. Mind now, too, that the window is not very clean on the outer side of the pane (this means some window washing is due).
By the way, the pole beans have really filled the trellis, haven't they? I hope to pick some tomorrow.
However, the new camera has higher definition capabilities and so far I am impressed. I am just using the "click and shoot" option and will have to research and experiment with the manual options. I will give further feedback in a few days after I "play" with the camera some. Who said that men are the only ones who have their technical toys?

The picture on the left was shot with the new camera, and the one on the right was shot with the older one. Click on each for a closeup view and compare. The light conditions are different with each one, but really, the overcast sky conditions of the right picture should have produced better details.

I succumbed to the temptation of using one of the new Blogger design templates. I think that this one is easier on the eyes. Anyway, am still waiting on the camera ... so beware!: New photos will be available soon, I hope! Meanwhile, I am tending to daily household tasks and working on a unfinished project or two, such as a new machine embroidery design that I am "tweaking." The design at the right is one that utilizes mylar. I did this one for a digitizing challenge presented by a Yahoo group. (Click on image for a more detailed view).

Can't Wait

I ordered a new digital camera yesterday and can't wait for its delivery! My older one just doesn't cut the mustard with me. Looking at photos taken with the newer cameras made me realize that my photos can be so much better with a newer camera that produces better quality images. I cannot afford the top-of-the-line camera, but I tried to get a good camera within my budget. Now, I need to finish some projects to take photograph and, of course, take new shots of my granddaughter, family, pets, garden, flowers, outdoor scenes, ... well, just have fun taking photos! Can't wait!

I had to insert this: a photo of the first picking of yellow crook-neck squash along with two Ichiban eggplants from our garden!!! Were they delicious!

A Great Day

It was a good celebration yesterday of my father's birthday. He became 81 years young this past weekend. My father is an incredible man who has done his best in living an honorable life and certainly did his best in raising a family that resulted in 4 daughters and 2 sons as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Unfortunately, he has endured the loss of my mother after 53 years of marriage and the loss of two sons. But, he is strong and full of life -- a life that we take great delight in sharing with him. We love you, Daddy,

Cannot Sleep - Mind Is Still Clicking Away

It is unusual for me to be up late such as I am at almost 1:00 a.m. I just cannot stop "thinking" intensely about things. I have decided that it is the need to create, which I have not done in a couple of weeks. Tomorrow, the family is having a get-together to celebrate my father's birthday - when I get back home, I will pull out materials and start on a project. I do not know at the moment which one ... there are several that have been simmering on the back burner of my mind. No matter, the point is that I need to do something.

My father's birthday was the 5th. This past eve, my immediate family consisting of my husband, my son and my granddaughter ate dinner together and we pulled out a small cake that I purchased from the grocery store. There were candles in the shapes of numbers that I saved from granddaughter's past birthdays. I found the number 8, but could not figure out why there was not a "1." My son looked and laughingly pulled it out, which I did not recognize as that it was a design of Big Bird of Sesame Street holding a "1." The candles were placed together to make "81" for my Dad. Really, it was the bit of humor needed to create smiles and laughter at the table. My father loved it. I wonder if the cake presented today, for the larger family gathering, will be as memorable.

Taking a Hiatus

My father is having medical issues that have resulted in me taking him to and from doctors, etc., 2-3 times for the past 5 weeks and already once this week. Plus, I am cooking all meals for him as that he is on a strict low sodium, low potassium and low phosphorus diet. I have decided to just not worry about getting so much done and just take things a day at a time. I will work on projects as time and my nerves let me. Of course, being creative helps reduce stress. I still would like to do a bi-weekly feature on notable Etsy and Artfire artisans.

Back to the garden again. I am still trying to figure out how to get better pictures with my camera, so bear with me. The views here are from my desk in my bedroom, which overlooks the garden. I tried to get a portrait of the back yard boss, a mockingbird, but he was too busy running off "invaders," including the squirrels.

Not much was done in the garden today as that showers kept us out. But hey, we surely need the moisture! The plants have really grown since the rains started Sunday.

The plants in the top photo are potato plants, which my hubby is pulling soil towards them, to make the hills bigger around them, as I write. The second photo is of okra. I love okra! The third photo is of the yellow crook neck summer squash and the fourth is of the pole beans and the Ichiban eggplant at the end of the row. Between the beans and eggplant are cucumbers that should start climbing the trellis soon.

My husband was not sure about vertical planting last year, but loved it when he discovered that he did not have to bend over to pick the green beans last year (not much, anyway).

He is to fix another trellis row next week and we are to plant some more beans and cukes. Staggering the planting of vegetables keeps the veggies coming through the summer. We can grow stuff well beyond September if the weather is right. Oh, we also want to plant sweet potatoes somewhere. I am not sure if they will overrun the place, but we have decided to try.

I have decided to pull back on producing stuff for Etsy and concentrate on immediate needs. However, I do need to list the JellyBean Critters that are ready. The garden is an immediate need, as well as that I intend to make some clothes for the granddaughter and a couple of shirts for my father...as well as create some more embroidery designs from my original artwork. Hey! I see fireflies! Summer is around the bend!

These are quick shots taken from my bedroom window overlooking the small vegetable garden in our back yard.

The two birds are doves sitting on the trellis upon which the pole beans are climbing. Tomatoes on the vines are about the diameter of a quarter or slightly larger and my husband are eagerly awaiting for them to mature. There is nothing better for me than to pick a tomato off the vine, rinse it off immediately and slice it for a tomato sandwich!

One thing about growing your own vegetables, one does not have to worry about toxic substances on the vegetables, or germs being shared by others (from handling from one person to the other). We keep a birdfeeder, with a water source, next to the garden. The multitude of birds that frequent our garden keep the bugs off the vegetables. Summer is approaching!

Vegetables planted in our garden: Bell peppers, Better Boy tomatoes, Kentucky Wonder pole beans, Ichiban eggplants, Clemson Spineless okra, red potatoes, crookneck squash, and more to come!

It is raining! Just that fact makes my day so wonderful.

What am I doing? I am listening to music by Annie Lennox and working on a new embroidery design. I am also in the process of getting together a case for iPhones, etc., as suggested by a follower. I do not have an iPhone, but sure can use a new case for my cell phone. In fact, I am thinking of making a new purse with matching zippered pouch and cell phone case for myself!!!

What is with the photo? This is a shot of one of the magnolia blooms on one of the five magnolia trees in my yard. I love magnolias and they are in bloom now. It is a good thing I love them as that the leaves keep us busy at a couple times of the year. I may go out and cut a few to put in a vase in the house - they smell so good!

Recuperating from the Weekend

I am not referring to a Monday "hangover." I had a really busy weekend and enjoyed it: Seeing my son receive his Masters degree on Mother's Day and eating dinner with him and my husband. We stayed overnight and then returned home today. I am just tired. But it is a good tired.

Before the weekend, I managed to squeeze in digitizing a peace symbol design [this brings back some memories] and then applied it to some upcycled denim, which was made into another sunglasses / large eyeglass case. This was digitized to be stitched over mylar which makes the design iridescent - click on the image for a closer look. I like it so much, that I am contemplating making some more in different colors on the same denim. Comments, anyone?

My Mother's Birthday

Today is Mom's birthday. Momma died in Oct., 2003 and we miss her dearly. However, we celebrate her birthday and her time here on earth with us, rather than grieve over our loss. When she died, my parents had been married for 53 years. Later today, I, my husband, and my father will place something special at her gravesite and then meet for dinner with another sister and her husband. From time-to-time, I remind my father that he can look at his girls and see a bit of Momma in us: a resemblance in some form such as a physical feature, a manner of movement, or the manner in which we speak. Today we celebrate the memories and impact that Momma made in our lives.

Making Time for Myself Today

Yes, I hope to take time for myself today. My son is "walking" to receive his Masters degree at the Citadel in Charleston, SC, on Mother's Day. I need something to wear for the event, and I am going shopping. If I do not find what I want, I will get a pattern and material and make it! Shoes will also be on my shopping list.
The photos of the sunglasses are to encourage me to make one or two for myself, also. I have a couple of large sunglasses that need cases.
Of these three prints, I cannot decide which I like better for myself.
I need to find a print with cats for a case. Anyway, this Monday is for me. I do not say that too often.

Leaping Lizards! I feel a "giveaway" coming on!

Today was a first for me: I visited a knife and gun show with my father. One item that he brought along with him was a specialty knife that was part of a collection of a deceased relative. He wanted to have it appraised. Well, there was one major drawback: although it is supposedly an artistically rendered item, it was made in China. The appraiser stated that no one nowadays wants anything made in China. I found this very interesting. I have been trying to purchase items made in the U.S.A. as much as possible (these are still hard to find), and I am not surprised that the general public has gone sour on items made in China. Maybe we will see a comeback of items being produced here in the U.S.A. However, it will not happen overnight.

Great Spot Remover!

I am not being paid for this endorsement! I had purchased a bottle of this "stuff" when I frequented Hancock's Fabrics recently and placed it on a shelf in my laundry room. Well, I noted that one of my favorite knit tops had some "grease" spots on it as I pulled it out of the dryer. Yep, it had been through a cycle of drying and I was sure that the stains were set. I spied the bottle I obtained recently and decided, "What the heck...it can't hurt." The solution in the bottle was applied to each spot and I rubbed it in. Then I just hung the top on a hanger and left it overnight until I did another load of laundry the next morning. I was amazed that the multiple spots - all of them - were gone when the top was pulled out of the dryer!!!

Hubby is doing better and I am back to my routine. I cannot wait to complete my "unfinished stuff" and start on new ideas. I may even juggle between, you know...multi-task. Spring is definitely here and I need to water the veggies and seeds that hubby and I planted last week. It is a good day!

Butterflies

APRIL 12, 2010: Poor hubby became worse over the weekend - He landed in the ER Sunday and the ENT doctor tended to him. Hubby had to stay overnight for different antibiotics given through IV's, as well as needed fluids were administered. I brought him home midday, and we are trying to get back into our routines. Needless to say, I did not do anything at home. But, he is feeling and looking much better.

There are 5 butterflies, "of the Painted Lady" species, that are in my granddaughter's butterfly house and she was so eager to see them. The butterflies popped out of their chrysalis about Thursday. We had hoped that they would do so in time to be released on Easter in front of the church, but not so. The photo is of one from about 3 years ago. This one was also a late arrival and was released in my backyard. Of course, it headed for the azaleas. Maybe my granddaughter can see them by Monday and the plan is to release them. But, she could decide to keep them for a few days and feed them sugar water as I am now doing. Yes, I put up with bugs for her!!!

Discovery in a Dresser

I peeked into a dresser in which "stuff" was stored and I found a kitty shape that I made many years ago of muslin. Now, muslin is what I use in trying out new ideas of my own creation.

The kitty design is one that I plan to explore further - I am deconstructing it and using the pieces for a pattern. However, I have already analyzed the object and plan to make a few changes. I will post what develops later on.
June 28, 2010 UPDATE: This is still in the making. I hit a "bump in life" in having to spend more time monitoring my father -- I am not complaining as that he is dear to me.

I get such delight when she visits my each weekend and asks, "What did you do this week?" We exchange information about her experiences in her second grade school life and about my endeavors, etc.

I made some pom pom chicks for her last week and plan to put them into a basket as an Easter gift in addition to HOPPIE, which she has not seen, yet. I have to get some photos done and post with this writing. There are not enough hours in the day.

Next week I will be focusing on making her two spring outfits. I went fabric shopping yesterday and enjoyed looking at the material and wonderful prints.

I have tweaked my creation for HOPPIE, primitive bunny, newest addition to my JellyBean Critters. The one pictured here is for my granddaughter. However, I can make more on request, which should be made no later than March 25th in order to be received before Easter. I can make the bunny from a tan, or camel, color flannel if so desired.

My maternal grandfather was 1/2 Irish and 1/2 German, which made for a very interesting character that he was. In honor of Noah Griffin, Happy St. Patrick's Day to you! And, yes, I plan to cook corned beef with potatoes and cabbage. But being the southerner that I am, I will have cornbread to accompany the cabbage. Yum! Yum!

Trying to Get More Done

I have been "under the weather" and am currently working on digitizing a machine embroidery design to keep my skills fresh and to learn more as is done whenever one works on this type of activity.

My blog is minus updated entries due to my inactivity. Creating my JellyBean Critters, etc., is my interest, and not a source of income. That is why I can offer quality in whatever I finish, rather than push for quantity.

Spring is upon us, and my husband and I are now focusing more on our own little "Victory Garden" and flowers. I love spring, but the ol' body does not like the pollen. This, too, shall pass ... and I strive on.

Need To Get Back Into the Routine

I have been under the weather with a "bug" and very nonproductive for the past few days. It is just a "bump in the road" and I will post some new bits of information shortly. I did manage to finish the granddaughter's coat and will post a photo of that ASAP - the shots that I took of that did not do well and will need to take more when she returns this week to visit me.

Signs of spring are appearing and that is something to cheer about!
