McCalls pattern M6391
I am trying to adjust a commercial pattern for shorts for my older granddaughter. I have not done such during the past 2 years and am having to think things out carefully. My granddaughter is 10 years old, but tall for her age and has a little tummy bulge. Anyway, I think that I have figured out what to do in adjusting the waist line: I am following the guidelines in the book, Fitting Finesse, by Nancy Zieman. But, I am pondering as that my granddaughter is continually growing in height, as to whether to lengthen the crotch length by 1-2 to 3/4 inch. Her measurement is comparable to the pattern, but I feel that it may be too short. I will make a muslin version for her to try on, and will make adjustments as needed.

I aim to make several pairs of various fabrics for her to wear to school.  The weather in the low country of South Carolina is very hot for the beginning of the school year.  There is a dress code that she has to adhere to, and the shorts, if some can be found off-the-rack at this time of the year, are much to short.

I am in the process of removing gadgets from my blog page, and also plan to work on the layout.   As I stated earlier, I have closed my online shops and will be concentrating on my family.  But I do want to share what I am doing / creating.
